Grandma's Age Old Remedies - Still Used Today

 

Many of us have walked out of a pharmacy shaking our heads, wondering how a tiny bottle of something could cost so much, or why the pharmacist just told us that the doctor’s prescription was for a product we could have bought over the counter. It’s enough to make anyone cringe.

My grandmother, like so many from her generation, had a remedy for almost everything. As a child, I didn’t believe half of what she told me. I’d roll my eyes, mutter that it couldn’t possibly work.

But over the years, I’ve learned that some of Grandma’s old tricks weren’t so silly after all. Many were passed down through families, shared between neighbours, and used long before pharmacies were on every corner.
